ABOUT

Cushing is a post punk, noise rock trio based in Portland, ME. Cushing has released 3 EPs and 1 full length record over the past decade.  "Cushing has no problem juxtaposing sweet and sour, buttressing calm vocal melodies with rumbling bass thrums and shards of dissonant guitar chords that somehow morph into catchy riffs...making music that could appeal as much to avant-gardists as adventurous rock fans, Cushing is happy to be loved, as long as you do it for who they are: a cracking good, noisy rock band."

The Big Takeover, July 2018 (Brooklyn, NY)

"This style of rock music is complicated to pull off and rarely attempted these days, but the authenticity meter is pretty high here. Cushing may be the Maine band playing it best." Portland Phoenix, June 2018 (Portland, ME)

Twin Foxes emerged out of Jared Mann’s desire to front his own band after years drumming for Willow and serving as a guitarist/songwriter with Big Tall Buildings, longing to explore a heavier indie-punk sound. Together with Andrew Fortin on bass and Carlos Molina on drums in the winter of 2014, Mann recorded the band’s first three-song cassette demo 2014. A Self-titled 7-inch followed, released by Full City Sour and on cassette via Disposable America in 2015 which included the single "Year on a String."

Twin Foxes then spent most of 2015 touring East coast, Midwest, and Canada as they planned their next move. By early 2016 Carlos Molina left the band and Dylan Partridge emerged to replace him on drums, with the new band lineup touring down to SXSW that spring. Mann completed work on a home recording studio in the deep woods of North Smithfield, RI. Dubbed “Distorted Forest,” the new studio proved the ideal location to record their first full-length album full of heavy, dark, and deep tracks. That first LP, Sleeping on the Attic Floor was released in February 2018 through Tor Johnson Records and Midnight Werewolf Records.

Shortly thereafter, Trevor White came on as second guitarist and Dylan Partridge shuffled out. The current three-man team of Mann, Fortin, and White share songwriting duties across all their songs and are accompanied by a rotating cast of drummers. They cite influences that range from Modest Mouse and Weakerthans to Jawbreaker and Superchunk.

Gaud is a music and art project from New England with a focus on storytelling through song. Formed in New Hampshire in 2020 they released their first EP 2 years later called “Gold Mine”. Three songs that are but a section of a longer story that will be complete with the release of their full length “The Singer” that will come out later this year along with visual art to help inform this tender and tragic tale.

Gaud’s focus is strong on their craft. An intense desire to explore melody and how it ties us to who we are and how we feel as humans.
